EBMUD Southern Loop Pipeline

Description: The Southern Loop Pipeline is part of the comprehensive Seismic Improvement Program to ensure that water supplies will be available following a major earthquake. The project consists of 10,500 lf of 42-inch diameter pipe, 28,323 lf of 36-inch diameter pipe and 19,258 lf of 30-inch diameter pipe. It also includes a Rate Control Station. DTA provided cost estimating from schematics to 100% construction documents, as well as scheduling and constructability review. DTA provide preconstruction support services. Our estimates were within 0.22% of the average bids. The project received an Honor Award for Engineering Excellence by the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California.
East Bay Municipal Utilties District (EBMUD) Moraga Pipeline

Description: Cost estimating and scheduling services for the design and construction of 17,600 s.f. of 36-inch to 48-inch diameter pipeline extending from Lafayette Water Treatment Plant through EBMUD’s Lafayette Reservoir Recreation Area (LRRA) to Moraga Road near Nemea Court and southward in Moraga Road to Graeger Drive in the Town of Moraga. This project has numerous work restrictions that affect the schedule and constructability including limited and difficult routes in and out of LRRA, hauling of materials via steep and windy fire roads, EIR mitigations and environmental permit restrictions, road closures affecting traffic, pipeline installation in front of a school limited to when school is not in session.
San Diego Clean Water Program

Construction Cost: $1 billion
Description: DTA has participated in formal value engineering workshops for over a decade for multiple facilities (outfalls, pipelines, reclamation plants, water treatment plants, sludge processing, digesters, etc.) being designed for the San Diego Clean Water Program. Tasks include reviewing design documents and estimates, developing cost models, identifying and validating cost items, verifying cost data, and outlining high cost areas. Workshops included Information Phases, Creative Phases, Judgment Phases, Development Phases, and Presentation Phases. During Development Phases, DTA prepared cost estimates and life cycle cost comparisons from selected best ideas developed during the Judgment Phases.
EBMUD Danville Pump Station Expansion
Owner/Client: East Bay Municipal Utility District/Camp Dresser & McKee Inc.
Construction Cost: $9.5 Million
Description: DTA, as subconsultant to Camp Dresser & McKee Inc., provided cost estimating services. Scope of work was comprised of three elements: 1) Pumping Plant - includes new 33-mgd Pumping Plant building, demolition of existing building, landscaping, road construction and paving. 2) Power System - includes construction of new outdoor 27 kV metering switchgear, transformers, upgrade of existing standby generator, and construction of a 1,000 sf power building. 3) Instrumentation - includes new main and local control panels, sensors and transmitters, PCLs, fire alarm systems, demolition and integration of existing instrumentation, controls and systems.
