Construction Cost: $5 million
Description: DTA provided preconstruction and administration services during construction. The new 409-car, five-level floor parking garage is a 140,000 sf structure, with an elevator and three staircases. The structure is cast-in-place concrete decks on galvanized steel frames with spread footing. Major materials include CMU/brick veneer cavity wall, non-painting bronze grille, painted metal screen and copper cladding. Mechanical systems are electrical service, a security system, campus telephone, and an emergency generator that serves adjacent buildings. Additional pre-planning and scheduling for traffic, student and pedestrian flow was done to alleviate campus congestion.
San Francisco International Airport Employee Parking Structure #3
Owner/Client: San Francisco International Airport Bureau of Design and Construction - San Francisco DPW
Construction Cost: $15 million
Description: Conceptual and design development cost estimating for two design options as well as value engineering analysis as a subconsultant to the design consultant team. New 470,000 sf, eight-level parking structure with 1,722 stalls. The structure is designed with a double-threaded helix, with parking on flat floors on the two outer bays and on the sloped floors/ramps on the two middle bays. The garage has two aluminum and glass stair towers and three elevators. DTA was subsequently selected by the Bureau of Construction Management to provide construction support services that included schedule analysis, contractor monitoring, delay analysis and contractor negotiation.
St. Mary's Square Garage
Owner/Client: San Francisco Department of Public Works
Construction Cost: $6 million
Description: DTA provided Construction Oversight including document control, change order analysis, status reporting, cost estimating and CPM scheduling.The project is an existing 290,400 s.f. six-story concrete structure with three (3) stories below grade located in downtown San Francisco. Repairs to the 750-space structure were necessary due to earthquake damage. Work included structural strengthening, hazardous materials abatement, and compliance for safety codes and accessibility requirements.
Civic Plaza East Garage
Owner/Client: City of Phoenix / 3/DI Management
Construction Cost: $26 million
Description: This new 1,194,650 sf, post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete parking structure has 2,900 stalls on seven levels and includes a bus/truck staging area and 10,000 sf attached single-story commercial space. The project includes eight elevators, six steel stairs, and a pedestrian bridge to the adjacent Arizona Science Center. DTA provided construction cost estimates, and during value engineering analysis, developed five alternates for various components.
