Description: Program and construction management services on both of the District's bond measures to build new schools, modernize existing facilities and upgrade technology infrastructure. The 1998 $70 million Measure D Bond included work at 23 high schools, middle schools and elementary schools. Major projects included the new $13 million Diablo Vista Middle School and a $17.4 million modernization and major additions of Monte Vista High School. The District also received state matching funds pushing the total construction funds to $117 million. The $260 million 2002 Measure A Bond also includes new construction and modernization as well as replacing many portables with permanent classrooms. DTA acted in the role of interim Director of Facilities developed program criteria for financial reporting and cost control, involved the community in design, assisted with consultants and contractors selection, provided progress reporting and provided on-site management for some facilities.
West Contra Costa Unified School District
Owner/Client: West Contra Costa Unified School District
Construction Cost: $350 million
Description: Project and construction management services for the District's Bond Measure D new construction and modernization program for elementary and secondary schools throughout the District. Services include design management, cost estimating, scheduling and constructability review. The scope of work covers a broad spectrum from complete demolition and rebuild of an existing high school to new construction of a middle school and modernization and upgrading of existing classrooms and gymnasium facilities.
 San Francisco Unified School District Modernization Program
Owner/Client: San Francisco Unified School District
Construction Cost: $42 million
Description: Program and project management services for eleven elementary, middle, and high schools in the Group 2 Program. Two projects involve new construction: Tenderloin Community School and the year-round Argonne Elementary School; the others were modernization/renovation and/or major addition projects.
Detroit Public Schools New Addition & Renovation
Owner/Client: Detroit Public Schools
Construction Cost: $32.5 million
Description: Project and construction management as part of a CM@Risk joint venture. The scope of work included renovation of Spain High School's ten-acre Campus in three phases: New Center of Performing Arts, 30,000sf, $6.5 million; renovation and upgrade of existing Elementary School, 20,000sf, $6.0 million; and New Crockett Technical High School, 150,000sf, $20 million.
Camden Regional PMF School Facilities Project
Owner/Client: NJ Schools Construction Corporation
Construction Cost: $300 million
Description: Program and construction management services including full-time on-site team, scheduling, cost estimating, value engineering, constructability review, and inspection from pre-design to construction stages of Phases I and II. Projects include acquisition, demolition, construction, improvement, repair, alteration, and modernization. The program encompasses 16 new schools and complete renovation of 5 facilities.
