Matthew Hensen HOPE VI Phase I & II

Construction Cost: $107 million
Description: Project management services for affordable low-income public housing rental and for-sale units. Buildings include family units, adult living building, a youth center, management leasing office, recreation and community resource center. Services also include budget and schedule review, permit assistance, plan review, constructability review, M/WBE goal monitoring and evaluation, project oversight, QA/QC Plan review, cost estimating, and change order review. The HOPE VI Project is a federal grant-funded program created to rebuild distressed public housing. The primary goals include revitalizing neighborhoods, providing services that enhance the lives of residents and creating a long-term investment in communities.
The Altenheim Senior Housing Renovation
Owner/Client: Oakland Housing Authority
Construction Cost: $17.5. million
Description: Owner's representative for a national registered historic landmark in the Oakland's Dimond District. The Housing Corporation with Excelsior German Center and the City of Oakland restored this architectural treasure to independent affordable senior housing. The housing project received awards from the California Preservation Foundation and the Oakland Heritage Alliance. Phase 1 opened in September 2007.
 Kenfield Homes Reconstruction, Phase 1, 2 & 3
Owner/Client: Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority
Construction Cost: $10 million
Description: Construction management services for the renovation and reconstruction of 33 public housing buildings. Project include upgrades to electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems; demolition and installation of new roofs, stoops, stairs, sidewalks and handrails; redesign of courtyard landscaping; and repaving of road surface and parking areas. Interior systems were retrofitted and asbestos and lead paint abatement was performed.
 Conner Waveney Apartment Renovations
Owner/Client: Detroit Housing Commission
Construction Cost: $10 million
Description: Construction management services during the renovation of the 95-unit, 1 to 2 bedroom high-rise senior housing apartments. The program was HUD funded, Section 3 and EO 22 compliant. The project included new utilities, site improvements and landscaping. Our services included design and constructability reviews, cost estimating, scheduling, contract administration, field inspections including coordination of A/E and construction contracts.
