Description: Preconstruction and construction services on various projects including the Public Health Department's new Bio-Terrorism Level 3 Safety Laboratory which contains FBI and other jurisdiction witness booth, product evaluation/ testing compartments including fume hoods, lab equipment, computer workstations, and appropriate storage and cleaning systems. Other projects: Emergency Department radiology equipment installation, seismic upgrade of hospital's entire basement, and remodeling of the Pathology Department's Clinical Labs. DTA's services included estimating, scheduling, document review, construction oversight, and quality control of equipment installation.
 Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory - Human Genome Research Laboratory
Owner/Client: Dept. of Energy/UC Berkeley
Construction Cost: $13.4 million
Description: On-site construction management services for a new three-story, 72,000 sf, steel-framed building containing wet and dry labs for biological research. Distinctive aspects of the project include a massive two-layered retaining wall. approximately 92 meters (300 feet) long and 10.67 meters (35 feet high), built into the hillside to create a site for the lab. Another unique element is the seismic design. Because of lessons learned from the failure of beam column connections in major earthquakes, special moment frame beam-to-column connections were designed to withstand lateral forces and allow each floor to move independently. DTA's services included scheduling; change order estimating and negotiation; construction monitoring; and coordination between Owner, Contractor and Architect.
 Woodhull Medical Center Exterior Renovation
Owner/Client: Dormitory Authority of the State of NY
Construction Cost: $5 million
Description: Project management and cost estimating services during the design phase. Renovations to the center included repair of masonry stair towers, site work paving, masonry retaining walls, concrete sidewalks, and replacement of chain link fencing. Additional work included temporary sidewalk shedding, chain link fencing, roofing, and structural steel work. Previously completed scope included repair and replacement of aluminum soffits.
 Nathan Kline Institute Renovation & Addition
Owner/Client: State of New York, Office of General Services
Construction Cost: $30 million
Description: Construction management services during construction phase. Total renovation of Building 35, and a new addition to connect Building 35 with Building 39, which houses the Institute's animal facility. This project brought two key elements to the Institute. The first is an Imaging Center designed to bring state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The center includes an MRI, PET camera and a cyclotron. The second element is a 24-bed Inpatient Unit. The addition of the two elements makes Nathan Kline Institute a premier facility in the area of psychiatric research.
