We are knowledgeable of sustainable design practices, working with the A/E/C community to deliver buildings that function more efficiently, are cleaner, healthier for occupants and the environment, and which utilize fewer resources. Green design strategies and materials are constantly evolving and improving. Our early involvement in a project benefits the owner in recommending green design alternatives that assist achieving and exceeding sustainable goals. Our preconstruction specialists develop upfront or first costs and weigh them against costs over the life of a project to determine the overall value of the sustainable design features.
We also have experience with The Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED™) Green Building Rating System
which provides the building industry with consistent, credible
standards for what constitutes a green building and is the
nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction,
and operation of high performance green buildings. We also
work early with LEED™ commissioning agents to develop a plan
that is implemented at conceptual design and carried forward
through design development, start-up and the commissioning
phase. We have provided preconstruction services for the first
LEED™ -certified library in the country – the West
Valley Branch Library, San Jose, CA.
